Rostova String Quartet

Formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, The Rostova String Quartet is a chamber music group composed of Shanti Sivarulrasa (first violin), Indi Tisoy Morales (second violin), Gabriel Galvis Rangel (viola), and Lillian Leblanc (cello). The quartet performs a vast classical and popular repertoire, while also premiering new works by Canadian composers.

The group has performed in several festivals and series including the Open Waters Festival, Nuovo Contemporary Concert Series, and the Scotia Festival of Music’s Chamber Players Series. The ensemble's name "Rostova" commemorates the first piece the musicians played as a quartet: "Rostova" from the War and Peace Suite by James Thomas, a pianist and composer based in Halifax.
