Nuovo is a contemporary concert series co-founded and co-directed by composers Shanti Sivarulrasa and Benjamin Fraser. The series is dedicated to featuring new works by emerging Atlantic-Canadian composers.
 
The Nuovo Concert Series has presented the works of several emerging composers including Uandha Fernandes Barbosa, Jeremie Boudreau, Cora Cameron, Stephen Deturbide, Dylan Hay, Harry McInroy, Garrett Niall, Hope Salmonson, and Hsiu-Ping Patrick Wu. The series has featured numerous Halifax-based performers including Elizabeth Ruxton (soprano), Victoria Dubois (flute), Amelia Hurst (bass clarinet), Katya McBeth (violin), Noam Koubi (violin), Gabriel Galvis Rangel (viola), Lillian LeBlanc (cello), Amelie Burkinshaw (harp), Ria Kim (piano), and Peter Allen (piano).

The series hosts two concerts per year in Halifax, NS. Upcoming calls for scores will be announced through Instagram.
